  • Hello John,
    Thank you for your question.

In Sweden teachers require teacher certification (lärarlegitimation). This certification shows in which types of school, what years and what subjects you are qualified to teach. The aim of the certification system is to raise standards in Swedish schools, improve the status of the profession and clarify the qualifications of teachers and preschool teachers.

Since 1 July 2015, only certified teachers or preschool teachers may take professional pedagogical responsibility for teaching and setting grades, no matter when they were employed.

You can top up your certification with additional credits for any experience you have from the year 2000 up until 1 July 2015. If you wish to apply for teacher certification, have any queries, you should contact the National Agency for education Skolverket directly.

    Hope that answered your question.

    Have a nice day! 😀

  • Hello I have a question. I work at internationella engelska skolan. I have work one year at the school as spanish teacher from august 2022 to august 2023. In August 2023 my contract was changed into a learning support teacher and It is from august 2023 to june 2024. Due to migration reasons I need to quit but the school say that according to my contract I have 3 months notice. But as I read in the collective agreements for independant schools such as IES  It stays that :Period of notice in the case of notice of termination on the part of the employer
Period of employment less than 2 years = 1 month
Minimum period of employment no less than 2 years but less than 4 years = 2 months

I would like to get the contact phone number of someone Who could guide me in this inquiry as soon as possible, either someone from the union , malmo or skåne or someone experto . I have try to reach the númber of the Page but everything is in swedish and I would like to have a written response when having my conversation with my current employer.

    Thanks for your help🌷
    Nina
